One of my favorite quotes – and I have many favorite quotes :-) is:  “Love what you’re doingand you’ll never work a day in your life.” – ConfuciusIf you embody the above quote, I believe you’re probably in the minority. Why is it that so many of us are in jobs that pay the bills, but leave us unfulfilled? In this section, we’ll explore this in detail. I believe that it is our birthright to live fulfilling lives and I also know that it is very possible that you can live your best life loving what you do as a career, whether you are a full-time employee, a student, a homemaker, or something else entirely. How is your financial situation? This is a very personal question, but one that has a tremendous and potentially devastating impact on our overall health. Graduation Day!

It's finally here.  As of 10-February-2012, I am a graduate from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) and a bona-fide, certified Health Counselor and Coach!  Woo hoooo! I can't say enough good things about the school, the staff, the curriculum, and of course, the incredible visiting teachers.  Where else could you receive formal instruction from such integrative medicine experts as Dr. Andrew Weil, Dr. Deepak Chopra, Paul Pitchford, Dr. David Katz, Dr. Mark Hyman, Dr. Neil Barnard...I wish I had the space to list them all. It has been a long year, indeed, working full-time and going to school, but it was so worth it.  IIN exposes the students to over 100 different dietary theories, and at many points, I became confused.  Conventional wisdom had me believing a lot of things that I have since been able to challenge or have found to be untrue.  But one aspect of clarity that I did come away with was with regard to the concept of "Bio-Individuality" - that each individual … [Read more...]
